Magazine Covers Of Existing Students

These are some magazines covers that have been produced by the previous students in A2 media. The similarities in all these covers are that all of them have a colour theme which consist of black, red, white and the last one uses the colour green which can represent gore. The use of these colours indicate that it is a horror cover expressing danger and fear. The light on the main body grabs attention of the viewer showing its significance.
The magazines have the title on the poster are in red and this colour connote danger as its the colour of blood. Blood is a iconography which is used in horror films which is wildly used in horror genres. These magazine covers automatically show the audience that its a horror magazine.

The titles of these magazine cover consist is of their film name in which the image should relate. therefore for my magazine cover I would like to use a similar image of the one on 'Echoing Evil' to represent the character is possessed holding a cross. This way the viewers can tell that she is the victim not the devil as many magazine covers show. The use of green background is not typical of the horror but it let a sense of insecurities with the pupil having a red cross. For my cover I would prefer to use the colour black as the background with red writing as its typical but by doing more research I could change my mind. The colours red and black are a good combination for a horror trailer .
