  • The typical convention are used in olden films and the new films of 2012 and onward, the iconography:blood and gore. The colours used are dull and terrifying such as black and red, white is used on a naive soul who is often the one who survives. The use of colour is associated with the activities that take place in the film therefore allows the audience to identity what the film is trying to portray. Also the abandoned location which are isolated from the rest on a darker environment where is is difficult for characters to hide. The themes are also very similar: Good vs Evil, religions, supernatural, fear, zombies, nightmares.
