Titles of the film

Whilst researching I noticed the films were named by what they contained For example the film Halloween: the deaths occurred on the day of Halloween when children are dressed in costume to disguise themselves. Also the film 'Insidious' refers to 'operating in an inconspicuous harmless way but actually with grave effect. In this film the the boy wen into a different world in his sleep which caused harm to his body which was not scientifically proven.
Therefore, using this idea we named our film 'FALSE AWAKENING' we highlights the activities that occurs in the dreams are not real which Casey believes is real.
A False Awakening occurs when a dreamer is in the middle of a dream and they dream that they wake up. This is a stressful moment as the person going through the dream thinks that they are experiencing a real-life situation. This makes a sense of fear and dread , no matter how many you have these 'false' dreams which soon start to affect your daily life. Such in the case of Casey as whilst walking on the road she feels paranoid that someone is stalking her and her 'tripping' on the stairs can seem to her that she was being dragged when in reality it might be her illusion.

Real media texts

This was one of the clips that influenced me to include paranormal activities occurring within the house to Casey and having dreams is a part of paranormal unconsciousness.

Also all the activities are very fast and snappy therefore leaves people feeling more sacred and are encouraged to wait for the next jump scene.

This is from Paranormal activity 3, this scene particular is very catchy for me as form a far distance the we can see the TV being turned on and its fuzzy. using this we have included a shot of Casey watching TV and the power cuts resulting into a similar outcome to this.

This was a great chase scene from Prom Night (1980), the fact that it was in a high school during prom where you expect people to be located everywhere seems strange that no one is there during this scene. Also the camera tracks Wendy's every step all round the school which is eye pleasing as the audience can see the surrounding. It is expected/stereotyped that during parties/proms visits o the bathroom is never alone therefore having Wendy going alone already raises concerns. This scene was inspirational as it contains many shots, establishing wider surrounding and is prolonged.

Ideas of Horror posters

I really like these horror posters as they truly represents the horror genre. Each character on the poster either plays the role of a villain or is a victim of the villain. I chose 'Insidious' poster as the character is a victim of the villain however, he is portrayed as the villain with the scary eyes and darker lighting effect. This will shows him in  negative form where in reality, he is just an innocent child who has been taken away by the negative energy. Children are often associated with innocence therefore they convey the role in a positive light. However, in the film 'Orphan'  the girl is represented as the villain who takes the role of a child but is really an old women. Not much of the background on the 'Orphan' poster therefore it makes it harder for the audience to make out what the film consists of. On the other hand, this idea is very good as it does not show the surrounding, the audience are left wondering for more but at the same time they can lose interest due to the lack of details presented on the poster.
